Melanotan regarding Age..?
02/09/12 at 13:05:23

Hi, im new to the forum and i am interested in starting melanotan II. I am 17 and a half and wondering if it is a good idea to start at this age.

Is there any side effects that could do harm at this age, possibly the libido enhancer in melanotan II and puberty?

I am also a mild acne sufferer

I see you have no responses from anybody so here is my thoughts.

I have not tried melanotan myself yet but I think at 17 years old its definitely not a good idea to be messing with this, you are not finished growing and your body will change a lot more over the next few years, nobody knows how melanotan-1 or melanotan II can affect this. This is obviously just my personal opinion, I am NO doctor Smiley

I agree with ghostman here your body is still developing and using something like melanotan II could mess with your hormones etc.

Especially with your acne from posts ive read here melanotan II can increase oil in the skin leading to more spots and also the scars left can remain dark while using melanotan II.

I think you would be better off waiting until your a bit older before trying it.

Hope this helps

thanks for the replies. do you think that melanotan-1 would be better seeing that it closer resembles the natural melanin stimulating hormone?

If you are a type I skin (always burn-never tan ) you might try melanotan-1. It does not cross the blood-brain barrier.
So in theory it will only stimulate the melanocytes in your skin, it is the form being tested for FDA approval.
If you can tan naturally, don't mess with either until you are 21yo. imo

Thanks for your reply, im guessing im a type 2 roughly, i can tan on my entire body except for my neck and face which is always extremely white, i dont think ive ever had a tan on my face only burnt, not sure why. my legs i have never tried to get a tan until this summer which they seemed to tan quite easily with no burning, so this is quite confusing for me since my face is always exposed and no tan.

Ive heard about the blood-brain barrier but not sure exactly what it means, Also doesnt melanotan work by stimulating something in your brain for your body to release more melanin?

Thanks again.

Tommi!
It is quite simple to understand why your face has problem to tan. The skin is our bodies bigggest organ and also one of four organs that eliminate acidic waste. Your acne is a sign of your lymphatic system dumping the waste through your skin and that's the reason the skin becomes more acidic and sensetive towards UV. A remedy for this is to eat a diet clean from foods that clug up the lymph system(fasting is beneficial aswell) and going down that road clearing up the skin. You can take Melanotan and find some relife(masking the symptom) but the underlaying causing factors still remains and that is a clogged up lymphatic system.

I would strongly recomend NOT to use this substance for someone in your age. IMHO Melanotan is not a long time solution for fair skinned people. There is sideaffects showing and God knows what else we doesen't discover during our usage.
So if you can tan somewhat and are 17, stay away from melanotan.

Tommii I would be cautious, that post contains a lot of pseudo science and I would not recommend fasting as a "treatment."

Tommi you can eat clean as a detox for a period of time and see what it does for you and then go back to whatever your diet is today. For me is eating clean a way of life nowadays. This is something I have done for more than a year and my mild rosacea is more or less cured. Much, much better than the 15+ years I have spent at(God knows how many) dermatologist around this country. They all had the same approach. Treating the sympthoms with a topical cream, either a steroid or anti fungal, or a antibiotics. Never an explanation of what causing the problems. Some of them were a little bolder and suggested that it might be a good idea to cut the blod vessels around my nose undecided  You see, it's incrediable. Any problem you have, cut it out that is the common solution at the allopathic community.
What I belive in is the bodies extreme gift to be able to heal itself if you give it the right tools. We don't need more drugs and supplementations we need less and more of what have been grown in this world from the start.
As I said I have been down all the roads with supplements, drugs, excersise, non exersice, you name it and nothing has worked until now when I just eat what I know is good for me.

Even for people that can't acknowledge anything that hasen't been proved in a blind study and don't have much consciouness left of what going on all around us in nature, could probabaly agree that eating clean is NOTHING to be caution about. But we let everybody else take care of themself and wish them good luck on their way to well being.

I eat what most people does but with the difference that I have cut out the bad stuff, for that reason do I have more room for veggies and good sources of fat and protein Smiley.
Instead of a low nutrient high calorie type diet is it the other way around, simple as that.
If you have skin problems what I would suggest is to cut out dairy products right away. Also be careful with protein which is on the acidic side. I think you would be helped just by that. Start slow and see whats works for you. One thing can we be sure of, eating processed food every day is not gonna work in the long run. Just look around! Diabetes, obesity is sky rocketing plus all the other lifestyle type of disorders.

I'm a bit in a hurry Tommi but if your interested in detox look up Dr Robert Morse. What he doesnen't know about detoxification is not worth knowing. He also has a very good understanding how the body works. Not at the nano structures that the traditional medicine seems to focus on but in simple way so we all can understand the different organs and glands and what they do for us.
Let me know what you think about him if you look him up.

Tommi,
I started using melanotan II right after I turned 18, so your basically around the same age I was when I started. I am now 23 and have been using melanotan II for about 5 years. I can say that I'm still alive and well. I haven't even had a fever or the flu in the past 5 years. Just be smart on how you use it and watch your body for negative sides.
I had acne as well and after multiple trips to the dermatologist and a bunch of different medicines I found that UV exposure (allowed by melanotan II) was the ONLY thing that could help my acne. To this day I start to get acne in the winter months, but then once everything warms up and I get UV exposure it goes away.
Hope this helps.
