psychological effects?
07/29/11 at 05:19:06

I have been on melanotan II and I off and on for around 5 years now. My only complaint would be the down days/ depressed days or how I feel the day prior to taking it that night. I've never had a really bad allergic reaction. I've used many if not all suppliers and ithis feeling was worse with melanotan II so I just take I now. I definitely notice the depressive state it gives me, and I do think it affects my mind beyond what a cold or allergy would do. I find it strange that this hasn't been mentioned before, or atleast I have not seen a post with this topic.

Bohazen,

I think most people are so thrilled to finally be able to tan that their psychological condition may improve along with their confidence and general feeling of happiness.

bohazen01 .. you say the depressed days you feel prior to taking melanotan II, did you mean to say after taking melanotan II ? and did you have these same effects while on melanotan-1  ? I can kind of relate sometimes I have felt what i'd describe as dull maybe while running a cycle of melanotan II.. also I am not the kind of person who suffers anxiety, however I have felt more anxious while running cycles but im not sure if thats a psychological placebo effect of worrying about the whole injecting melanotan II in general.. interesting topic I look forward to reading others input..

I have never felt depressed from taking melanotan II.  I have, on occasion felt ill from taking too much or taking old peptide but I have never felt depressed.  Quite the opposite, when I am taking it I usually feel better, more optimistic, able and excited about what I am doing.  I was quite surprised to see your post.

Indeed melanotan peptide does help stimulate cellular NO production and hence can change mood...  melanotan II more pronounced than melanotan-1.  Perhaps you are feeling the reduction in NO, kind of like NO withdrawal.

I think the depression of which you are talking about could be the result of you realising you're not satisfied with what you are seeing in the mirror. In the end, this is what triggers you to use Melanotan in the first place, right?

Edward00 - that is completley off the ball from what bohazen meant, MSHie - good point it seems very plausible, the NO (nitric oxide) being reduced with lesser dose or stopping dose to cycle off, could infact be the cause of this 'dull' feeling I occasionally get while cycling, as researching NO bodybuilding supplements it states that when you stop use you may face withdrawl symptoms such as lathargy and headaches! That seems about right to me and may well be a contributing factor to bohazens depressed feeling.
