health problems (lymph node)
07/02/10 at 07:58:54

I have been using melanotan II off and on for around a year and a half now and in the last year or so I been experiencing inflamed lymph nodes just below my jaw on my neck. I am 100% confident that it’s being caused from the use of  melanotan.
My lymph nodes have been inflamed three times now. The first and worst time it occurred it cause ulcers over my whole mouth to a point where I could barely eat. I assumed it was caused by a contamination and that I was being too careless with the handling and storing the melanotan.

I have start on a new vial and after the first 0.5mgs I already have an inflamed lymph node again. I took all precautions in the prep and storage!!

Can’t understand why this keeps happening, it can’t be good for my health.

Has anyone experienced this problem before?

Sounds awful.  I assume you're using fresh bac water? I have a hard time believing a brand new vial is infected just like the last ones.  Is this a fresh supply?
The product is known to cause allergic reactions in some and that sounds far more likely to be your problem than a virus.
I wouldn't try taking more until you feel completely back to normal.  At that time, you could try injecting fresh bac water with no peptide and see if  you still get a reaction.  If so, you would need to switch to saline water for injection or sterile water for injection.
If not, maybe you should consider melanotan-1 or stopping altogether.

I'd try a different supplier.  If you're using a fresh vial from the same supplier, it might have the same contamination (if that's indeed the source of contamination).  And get fresh bac water while you're at it.  If there's any reason to doubt needles, get new needles.

(And you probably know all this: Alcohol swab the tops of the vial and the bac water, and the injection site each time a needle touches it.  Always use different swabs.  Never reuse a needle.  When storing it in the fridge, store the vial in a small container of its own.)

But it might not be contamination at all.  You might try waiting a month or two -- sometimes viral crap, or anything infecting the lymph nodes, can reoccur just because it didn't fully go away for whatever reason.
Good luck with it.

I tend to agree with SirLuck.  It sounds more like an allergic reaction.  Try cutting your dose way back or just stop completely.

Reviving an old thread here ...

One week ago this past Friday, my niece got out of the hospital.  She'd been there for a week and a day.  Her lymph nodes near her groin were extremely swollen.  She was spiking temperatures of 104 and 105 for 4 days.  She was vomiting, to the point of vomiting blood.  Her head and neck hurt so much that she was given morphine to relieve the pain.  Nothing they did was helping.  At first, they thought it was viral.  However, on the seventh day in the hospital, it was decided that her lymph node needed to be removed.  It was the size of an egg, and they dissected it.  The internal part of the node was dead.  We are still waiting on test results to confirm the bacteria they believe it to be.

Two weeks prior to falling ill, she'd begun Melanotan II injections.  Her co-workers were discussing this with a customer.  That woman reported the same thing had happened to her own daughter only weeks before.  Her daughter too, ahd just begun Melanotan II injections.

We don't know.  We're hoping the customer will return so we can ask questions.  My concern isn't so much the peptide, but the source.  A lot of this is being imported from China.  China doesn't exactly have the best record in safety issues.  I would hate to think that someone died as a result of contaminated product.  We still have all the vials and a connection to have them tested.  We are just waiting for these final tests to come back.

Just thought i would give an update. I am the same mich that started this thread.

I have continued to use the same shipment. i use saline solution to mix and only ever store the peptide frozen. I have been injecting on and off since i initially started the thread and i have since only experienced very slight lymph node inflammation. I am wondering now if my body just built up a slight allergic reaction to the peptide. It summer again now so ill be injecting again now more regularly. I just hope it does not happen again.

I have only ever sourced my melanotan II from sirluck.. (Chinese).

Feastie do you know where you niece got her melanotan II from?

thai_sun when you say it made you sick what exactly do you mean? Have you experiencing inflamed lymph’s nodes too?

You haven't mentioned how fresh your saline water is.  It is saline FOR INJECTIONS?

the saline water was never used passed its expiry date and yes i realise that saline solution for irrigation should never be used for injecting.

Once you pierce a bacteriostatic water, it must be refrigerated or frozen.  If refrigerated, it will turn into regular water within 30 days and no longer be safe to use.

I get swolen lymph nodes about once a year when I'm stressed/underslept/on meds etc over a period of time. It happens when your immune system is low. I think it is more that you are using melanotan II in the first place, rather than the quality of it, if you get what I mean. It lowers your immunity which makes your nodes swell. So people that are prone to it may get sick. I dont think it means its a bad batch, your system is probably just a bit knocked around by it. My last lymph attack was 2 months ago and I started melanotan II about 3 weeks ago, and I am fine so far...fingers crossed.

Dinna, yea i think you are right to some extent.

I would also just like to stress how important it is to prepare and inject the peptide safely. For myself anyway i think it is critical to clean hands/injection site in alcohol and always keep the peptide freezen in a enviroment as close to sterile as possible. It seems like am more susceptible to any contaminations now that i have been sick a few times. Taking all pre-cautions i have managed to stay healthy.

I have been using melanotan II for a year now with good results but I feel sick after each injection.
I inject prior to bed so it doesn’t bother me much. The source of the product is American 99+% purity so they claim and I believe them because I know a number of others who use from the same source and batch. We also have bacteriostatic water from the same source and one of the user’s works in the medical profession so we know what we are doing. About 6 months ago I noticed a swollen lymph node under my jaw so I have seen the doctor had blood tests and go for an ultrasound tomorrow.
I should have all the results later in the week.
