Type 2 (I think) low dose
02/05/10 at 15:21:15

Hey guys,
I think i would be classified as a type 2 but it is hard to say because i live in australia and our sun is a hell of a lot different to that of england (for instance i can be in the sun all day in england during summer and not get burnt and i do tan). In Aus I never wear sunscreen unless I am going to a music festival or the beach and am going to be out in the sun all day. That being said, I don't go ultra brown or anything, but noticeably different from my winter colour (white pretty much).

I freckle, but they are all really unnoticeable because they are light. I have quite a few moles althought most are probably described as freckles (only about 10 are larger than a spek).

I started using Melanotan 4 days ago and have kept my dose relatively low given that I am not a type 1 and plenty of people of my skin type seem to have had good results with low doses.

Day 1: 0.15mg (I screwed this one up a bit and had a bit of air in it) - No side affects except for a little bit of flushing and tiredness which I liked because I often use sleeping tablets to get to sleep - I didn't need to use them on this (Stilnox).

Day 2: 0.2mg (Stung a little - I think because my fridge is quite cold because first injection was fine - no other sides)

* Accidently left the mix out for 12 hours in 20 degree celcius room *

Day 3: 0.4mg (I meant to inject 0.2mg but was drunk and forgot that the needle has bars every 2 units not 1 - this time I had random erections, pretty much like everyone else described, if you yawn you will get one, if you don't, you may well anyway. If I had had 1mg or more like some people have being taken I dont know how I would have coped. Other than that had slight soreness in the injection site - honestly soreness is prob an exaggeration - more like really minor discomfort.

Day 4: 0.25mg - Drunk Again -  (This time I stabbed myself a little more with the needle (previously was pushing slowly). I found it much easier - I also left the needle in my hand for about a minute before injecting and I think this may have helped as I did not feel the sting that I have previosly felt from injecting - mixture may have warmed to closer to my body temperature before injected.

Overall, and I know that there are some people that may think I am silly trying this for purely cosmetic reasons, which is true, I have only experienced minor increases in moles/freckles which was my major fear.

I am not going to increase my does beyond 0.25mg from now on - the only increase in moles I noticed was after the 0.4mg accidental dose (but I undersrand there is a lag so I'm guessing the only benefit in low doses is that you tan quicker relative to the mole / freckle increase.).

I have noticed that the small number of new moles that I have - and they may not be new, in fact prob not even moles, more like dark freckles-  are under my ears. I would suggest anyone that is thinking about trying this out and is woried about moles / freckles look under their ears prior to commencing and seeing if anything appears after starting melanotan.

I will try and post photos - I know I appreciate other people doing this but at the moment don't have the capeability.

To be honest, the only side affect I am the slighest bit worried about at the moment is the tiredness and co-ordination to a small extent. I play tennis relatively well - to the extent that a small change in perception affects my game - and have noticed that I am not playing as well and I think it is do with my sight - It seems not to be a static vision issue, but more my ability of my eyes to adjust to moving objects - I know I am about ot get a torrid of abuse from people saying that this can't be happening after 4 days and I am inclined to agree - It could easily be a side affect of antibitotics i'm currently on (recovering from tonsilitis) or just general lack of sleep (I prob only get 5 hrs a night) - Work in finance and hasn't been the best week in my life!

Please post any questions you have - I will respond quickly and as accurately as I can (Timezone is Australian though).

Apologies for the spelling also - Can barely see the screen. buggered. For some reason I feel like for posting this I am going to cop flack from someone that thinks that because he has the most ultimate fair skin that somehow he is more entitled to trial this than other people.

I guess I'll wait and see.

Got really sick last night but may well have nothing to do with melanotan as have been on antibiotics for tonsilitis recently and partying pretty hard at the same time. Anyway, this was a little scary though because I went from feeling ok to having a temperature of 39 degrees C, aching neck and joint muscles to the point I could barely walk down the stairs and a splitting headache - this was 12 hours after taking melanotan so I'm guessing its unrelated. It actually all came on so fast that I got worried that it was meningitis or something and nearly took myself to the doctor but ended up just staying in bed the entire rest of day.

Am still a bit sick today - throat infection seems to have come back with a vengeance and still have elevated temperature - I'm hoping this all goes away by tomorrow as can't afford to be away from work.

If I'm feeling better by tonight I will take a small dose 0.15mg of melanotan II as I missed last night already.

Have had two more doses since last post

0.25mg - No sides
0.25mg - No sides

This stuff has suddnely kicked in as well - faster that I wanted but prob cos I spend alot of time playing tennis in the sun and the UV here is pretty extreme - I rarely wear sunscreen and don't burn earily but don't tan easily either. My face has now gone quite brown though - much more brown than the rest of my exposed parts (arms and legs).

I am going to go to maintainence now of 0.25mg once a week. I seem to be reacting to this much quicker and stronger than others have experienced.

I am hoping that this low maintenance dose may also result in some of the really dark freckles on my arms fading slightly and will keep you posted.

I'm gonna go check if I can find my digital camera now and post a photo.

Should also mention that I have very mild Seborrhoeic dermatitis (only next to my nose basically) and this seems to have helped alot with that.

I have also noticed that I am getting a few pimples trying to break through the skin but cant meaning they are not visible to others but I can notice them. This may be due to the thickening of the skin some people have reported. I got some pimples before starting this but not many.

Should also prob mention my weight is 75kg.

Hey drmott,

I'm also from Australia am type 2 and am using small doses. Ive been on Mll for 8 days now and am injecting 0.25mg - 0.5mg once a day. I have already started seeing a difference in pigment mainly on my stomach and have a pretty obvious tan lines but only on my butt and stomach which i find strange as i havnt noticed a huge difference to my face, arms, chest or legs. I have also been to a solarium 3 times.

From small doses how much do you think you're skin tone changed? and how well are you maintaining the tan with once weekly doses?

Thanks,

 Smiley

Hey,

I actually changed my mind and decided to do 0.25mg every other day for one more week, then cut down to weekly.

My face has actually been the first part to change but I have not been using solarium and have not sunbaked topless, just alot of tennis is the sun with no sunscreen or hat (stupid i know).

It has changed enough for people to notice my tan but not enough for people to think something strange is going on. I'm in Melbourne so its overcast next few days so guess I'll find out once the sun comes back where I am at.

Have not had any melanotan since last post and am still getting darker with minimal sun exposure. Not going to take any this week as I have a tennis tournament on weekend and will be in the sun all day for 2 days. Don't want to get too dark.

Once again changed my mind and had 0.3mg this morning. No bad sides.

Tan has been maintained.

The likely cause of your earlier fever and illness would be mixing alcohol and antibiodics.
Everyone knows that this is a no-no.

This is the wrongly held opinion of many, however speak to your doctor and you will find that mixing alcohol and antibiotics is fine - It doens't make you sick or get drunk faster or change the effectiveness of the antibiotics - Only issue is you shouldn't really be drinking when you are sick!

But your wrong regarding the antibiotics comment. I am even sure a quick google seach will back me up here.

In other news I have had 0.25mg in the last week and have maintained my colour. Will be sticking to this amount every week. I have been getting alot of UV recently due to Australian summer.
