I was lucky enough to get the real deal when participating in the 1:1 Placebo clinical trial too. Was great. Went quite dark, yet never went in the sun...
The doctor said on a checkup "well it's easy to see you didn't get the placebo" lol
He also went on to saying that the drug seemed completely safe, and worked well for everyone he'd seen. The only reason they hadn't released it was because the implant was too invasive.
Yeah, i still have a scar on my belly years later from it. It was raised for years, but has flattened out now. It's about half the size of my pinkie fingernail (small). What i do hate were the skin biopsies they took from the lower back (top of my butt). They've left a small row of scars too, but look more clinical as they're all in a row (3 or 4 from memory). You also get a check for $300 for 'transport expenses' lol
All in all it was a great trial. The implant feels a lil funny once you get it. You can feel it under your skin. But you quickly forget about it. You still get mole darkening and darker hair on your stubble, but that is just from the melanin - not much you can do about that.
I've also used injections after to try and recreate the effect. But there really is nothing like the real thing. I did get a pretty cute girlfriend at the same time too (model) - coincidence? ha!
I'm considering doing another round of injections, but seem to have trouble getting the skin colour up nowadays. Tan Research worked a treat but from all the positive reviews i've mainly used USLabResearch - Chinese melanotan-1, to a seemingly lesser effect. I think it's all about the patience, and building your way up from 0.5 - 3 or 4mg... It's just so hard to gauge.
Anyway, hope that's interesting to someone
