scarring

anyone else had problems with scars while on melanotan II?

i scratched myself on a rose bush some weeks ago, actually it's probably closer to 6 weeks now, and it was just a scratch, a deep scratch though and it scabbed over.

now i've got this 8cm long scar on my arm, it's a very dark "tanned" color, very distinct, almost like a dark brown tattoo i've had done.

just wondering if it will be permanent or if it will fade away when i stop taking melanotan II?

Hello Megan,

These posts should help you. The second person to ever report using melanotan II in the forums posted about scarring.

this one in particular helped:

looks as though it's permanent then!

i didn't realise going out in the sun with a fresh scar would make it permanent!

You might ring up your local tanning salon or else search tanning forums in general about the scarring issue. I suspect that whatever is the case with ordinary tanning relative to scarring will apply to tanning using one of the peptides.

Well I did some more research and came up with a pretty strong authority talking about scars and tanning.

The U.S. National Institutes of Health

The article talks about "scar revision" and has this specific line:

Quote:

Avoid exposure to the sun for several months after treatment (for scar revision). Use sunblock or a dressing (such as a Band-Aid) to keep the sun from permanently tanning the healing scar.

Sorry to report that.

thanks for all that Scott, alas my research has turned up the same results!

i think as the melanotan II enhances my skins tanning properties it's also enhanced the effects of the uv on the scarred tissue, (especially seeing i was in the middle of my loading phase at the time) mental note that if i ever get scratched or cut again to keep it covered up until it's completely healed!

Wow this is a really useful thing to be aware of. I'm also noticing that basically any type of mark I get (cut, scratch, etc) seems to never go away, and is definately darker.

good idea, and bandage it up/SPF30+ and make sure it gets no UV until it's healed!
