Piperine

Hi friends,

Anyone ever used black pepper for tanning? I just came across these articles on the compound 'Piperine':

Wondered if anyone has anything to add or comment, thanks

Perhaps boiling a bunch of finely grated black pepper in water and then mixing the solution with a skin lotion for application...

Bioperine is a good source of piperine-- 95% i believe. Bioperine is commonly added to many bodybuilding supplements to enhance their bioavailability. Read about it here www.bioperine.com. From a quick google search, it seems pretty easy to obtain. Interestingly, the Sabinsa Corp. has the patent for Bioperine, and I think they are the ones behind coleus.

Very interesting find dark horse Smiley

I am thinking of attempting a crude experiment by mixing a solution of fine ground black peppar into a skin penetrator type compound. I have some Emu oil, which might work. It's worth a try, any thoughts or comments would be welcome?

Go for it dark horse!!! I imagine emu oil would be a good carrier-- definitely worth a shot before trying any of the more irritating stuff. I would imagine you would have to make it pretty concentrated and boil it like mshie said to prevent having a suspension. Good luck!!

Imagine if this works. . . . the answer was in our kitchen cupboards the whole time  Shocked

great find indeed! especially we know that it penetrates human skin because it has been tried already. But I guess using bioperine would work better than use pepper. It is probably far more concentrated, and still it takes 6 weeks to work.

I doubt it would work on type 1 skin without using melanotan (Since results were obtained on dark skinned people), but who knows!

At least one product is already using black pepper:

http://www.xerionskinscience.com/zen/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath= 4&products_id=13

Perhaps it is the black pepper which is the most effectve ingredient here and maybe a stronger concentration will have a better effect.

i would be concerned about any irritation from direct contact with using crude pepper on the skin. i think the active ingredient would have to be extracted or synthesized.
