UPDATE:

Yesterday I forgot to take my dose (would have been my 7th dose for this cycle). Also, begining yesterday, I've developed swolen glands in the throat again. Had been sneezing a fair bit in the day or two prior.

MilkMan,

That is disconcerting to hear you're experiencing this strange issue, I'm sorry to hear of your trouble. Have you discussed this with health care professionals? Swollen glands usually are a sign of infection or disease. When was the first time you experienced swollen glands in your throat?  Are you inclined to associate what you are experiencing with some aspect of your usage of melanotan II?
I hope that you can establish what is the cause of this and quickly overcome it.

Hi Scott,
Well, I can't necessarily associate it with melanotan II. But since I've been using melanotan II it's something that seems to occur more often. I've noted it several times before in this log. In the past I attributed it to high doses( ie 0.75mg +   -> that's high for me).

On this occasion however, another person in the household had a sore throat/cold a day or two before my experiencing my symptoms. Also the temperatures here are much colder than they were a month ago.

I just wanted to make a note of it. - Niether associating or disassociating it with melanotan II.

Cheers,
Milkman.

What about discussing it with a healthcare professional (ie: doctor)?

Twice a day, in fact!

This one is under suspicion of being a viral infection. One of the previous sore throats that I've logged was bacterial (possibly secondary though). I don't believe that melanotan II causes these. But I do suspect melanotan II of tiring the body, thus leaving the immune system a little weaker. So suseptability is greater.

Cheers,

I have been uable to take melanotan II for 2 days (yesterday and the day before) and I noticed that on the first night of those two days that my sore throat had gone.

I'm about to take a dose today. We'll see if that swings things around again(ie. Brings back the sore throat/swolen glands).

Cheers,
Milkman.

Ok, so it looks like I just had a virus. I've had no other side effects while dosing this low (0.3mg/day). - So I won't relate the sore throat to melanotan II this time.

On another note, my facial hair has gone dark again. I should point out that even though my dosage has been 0.33mg / day, I have forgotten to take it frequently. I would estimate that I remember 5 out of every 7 days. My color is warming up again (ever so slightly), but I've had zero sun for over 6 weeks.

On my next cycle, I'm going to experiment with an even lower dose. Any way that's a while off yet.

Cheers,
Milkman

How about a photo!

This is a shot of my arm next to my sister's arm. Normally without melanotan II I am the same color as her.

Greetings Stoneeh,
Interesting isn't it? But even still, that is all the illness that I've had so far this cold season. Everyone else around me has had a cough, cold, sniffles etc.

Maybe if I was taking more melanotan II, I would have come down with something a bit more heavily.

Cheers,
Milkman.

UPDATE:

Ok, so about 2 days ago I ended the current melanotan II cycle (0.33mg/day...approximately). - Total 10mg.
Usually took a dose 5 out of 7 days a week.

I had no sun exposure during this cycle.

My facial hair has gone dark (black) again (Occured during 2nd or 3rd week).

No drop in body weight.

A minimal sore-throat experience (see recent posts).

At the moment some of the freckles on my face are more obvious. Not sure if my tan has backed-off, or if my freckles have darkened.

So now I'm going to take another month or so off from melanotan II. - And then I'll try another cycle. Maybe an even lower dose? Who knows....

Cheers,
Milkman.

yes. we all knew that UV can weaken the immune system
i always believed though, that this is because of the stress to the damaged skin, high temperature, .., resulting in general exhaustion of the body
now we can assume though this has something to do with the hormone that stimulates pigment production (whats the name again, a-msh?), or maybe the process of pigment production itself
at least i really do, because since i started with melanotan II i had little to no UV exposure, and still i at times had heavy sneezing, nearly became sick, and had an overall weak feeling at times

good luck in your future endevaours!

yes this is scientific prooven, that UV-Exposion affects your immune system
i can really feel the impact
sometimes get temporary light snuffing etc. which only lasts for some minutes/hours

# DO make sure you get enough vitamin D3 and beta-carotene, if necessary through supplementation. Recent research has shown that taking 30 mg of beta-carotene a day protects against the suppression of the immune system by UVA rays(13).
# DO make sure to supplement your diet with antioxidants. Dr. Abram Hoffer in Victoria, Canada recommends that vitamin C, vitamin E, and selenium be used as a protection against the damages of excessive ultraviolet radiation. He suggests daily dosages of 3 grams or more of vitamin C, 800 IU of vitamin E, and 200 micrograms of selenium (l-selenomethionine)(22). Vitamins C and E also protect against cataract formation(23,24).

Its interesting that Vitamin C+E also prevents cataract (blurred view) development, so that should come handy for all users who experienced that side effect i think.

Gonna try out those dosages.

Stoneeh, 4Real, Thanks for good info.  Wink

I've been off the melanotan II juice for almost 4 weeks now. My face has faded (with the exception of a broad and mild freckle.....grrrr!) And my facial hair just returned to blonde/ginger again.

I think it will be time for another low dose cycle in about 2 weeks....maybe less we'll see!

I'm really tempted to go super dark, but I'm about to start a new job and that will probably freak some people out (people that I don't want to freak out too!). Seeing a photo of Henry Porter just makes you want to go and tan for the fun of it.

Anyway...

Hey acecard,
I haven't faded completely...in fact people who havent seen me in the last year comment on how I look darker.  So the amount I have faded is relative to when I was on melanotan II. Having said that, my face is apparently almost the way it was before I started on melanotan II.

Hope that clears it up.

Cheers,
Milkman.

UPDATE: - I'm back !

I haven't had internet access for over a month now. So this is the first update for a while.

Ok so I started my 4th melanotan II cycle around Aug 11, 2008. We are talking 0.2mg per day. And yes, there was barely any room left in the vial after Injecting all that saline water into it.

I've been pretty consistent, injecting 6 out of every 7 days, for the last 30 days. I have darkened again and my facial hair has gone dark yet again. There has been no exageration of freckles during this cycle.

I'm considering going to the solarium for a brief few minutes in a bed. - Just to see the response after 0.2mg/day.

Will let you all know!

Cheers,
Milkman.

UPDATE

Ok so I've been pretty consistent with my 0.2mg / Day routine. This morning however I took 0.3mg because I'm running out of syringes and decided that I would go to the solarium (for the first time ever) today.

Well, I've got to say those things are hot. I kept my head & neck covered with a towel. My face is already dark enough for this time of year. The girl behind the desk thought I was a type 3! Seeing I had to sign a form waiving everything I guess she wanted me to write that I thought I was a type 3...just in case one day there was a court case.   hmmmm....

So, I did 6 minutes an my skin feels a tiny bit stimulated. I'll let you know more in a couple of days.

Tomorrow I'll use my last syringe. Then it could be a few days or even a week before I get around to buying some more.

Cheers,

Milkman
