Thanks Jkboxo, you're right that's what I meant.
I guess our precious milkman is not located in Victoria and haven't payed much attention to the news either Wink. Or maybe it's just my ability in expressing myself that is beyond every form of dignity Cool.

How is the tan nowadays?

Ah, thanks guys, now I understand. I must have had my brain turned off!  I have been off line for a while, when I logged back in I saw some new banner/headlines on the melanotan.org site and a new TV report. I freaked out when I saw your comment Henry because I thought some tv show had been using our images.... Funny, the bushfires didn't even register.  I've been in the snow lately.

Thanks for thinking of me (and other aussies) Henry. It really is horrific. My family, friends and I have all been spared (thank god).

As for the tan: Well, I haven't used any melanotan II for a few weeks. Recently I had some IPL done. About 15 spots on my back and 10 on my arms. Seems to have worked well, but has left some white spots where there used to be moles. I'm hoping these will return to the same color as the surrounding skin (tanned) withing a few months.

For anyone getting IPL done, let me suggest this: Don't let the nurse/doctor do a test patch some where obvious (like the top of your forearm). I've got 2 big white bars on my arm from where the laser toasted my tan off.

For the last week and a half, I have been injecting 0.66mg of melanotan II that I diluted about 6 weeks ago. I am not getting any sides. I'm not sure how much peptide degradation has occurred...but I'm not getting much sun so it's a bit hard to tell at this point.

btw: If you look at my previous page (in the log) there is a pic of 2 different vials of melanotan II. I still haven't started using that brown stuff yet. - It will be the next vial I dilute. I got both of them from Melanocorp.

I started to get tonsilitis again. Nothing really bad, but i can feel it coming on. It begun about 2 days ago. As I've noted before, these very same symptoms occur when my dosage is higher. In this case I have been doing 0.66mg lately which is about double my normal dose. I guess I am looking a little darker again.

So I have stopped dosing and am using some penicilin V for a few days.

Cheers,
Milkman.

It is possible that you are starting to develop a mild allergy to melanotan II.  You could try reducing your dose to about 0.2 to 0.3 mg/day.  That might reduce symptoms and is probably enough to get a good tanning effect.  Taking an antihistimine might also help.  If you try those steps, let us know your results.

Thanks Virginian,
Yes, I've already experimented with both lower dosages and antihistamine. Lower dosages works fine (see earlier posts) -no sides at all. This particular symptom is typical for me at higher dosages. On this occasion I went up to 0.66mg/day because my peptide had been dilute for over 6 weeks already and there was a lot left. - So I thought I'll ramp up and use a bit more before it expired completely. This time the side effect is very minor compared to previous occasions. It certainly re-inforces that for me, high doses are where the problem starts. Antihistamine was never necessary after I began lower doses. The lowest dose cycle I have done is about 0.1mg/day, this however just gave me the tinyest bit of colour(good for winter). So far 0.2mg 5 ouf of 7 days of the week is ideal, and 0.33mg 5 or more days per week is great for getting dark again.

Cheers,
Milkman.

Oh yes. I forgot to mention that last week I had many late nights and several involving alcohol. So I was run down to begin with, that I'm sure was a contributing factor.

I've been on penicilin for about 2 days and I think it's knocked this one on the head already.

UPDATE:

I didn't quite finish my previous vial because the last 10 injections didn't seem to do anything to my color. I guess it's been about 8 weeks since I mixed it so it's probably useless at this age. My hands were becoming quite white and I think my face was too. But, you know, I'm not really a good person to judge that anymore. I'd have to ask my mum.

OK, so I've started a new vial (the big brown ones from Melanocorp that you see in the previous picture).  No nasty sides.  I've done 3 doses of 0.33mg/day.

Went to the solarium yesterday (6 mins) . No burning.

Cheers,
Milkman.

IPL:

Here are some photos from my IPL treatment. The area photographed is actually just a test area where they guage the skin's response to a certain setting on the laser machine.

Apparently, even though the setting was low, the laser burnt more than it should have. After this burnt patch healed up, it left the area completely white and it looked kind of silly compared to the surrounding tanned skin.  The color is coming back gradually though.

You may need to scroll to the right to see all the pics.

Cheers,

I thought it would be a good time to bring up a post I did early last year. It seems a lot of people are still asking the same old question:

How long does it take to tan?

PS. If it doesn't make sense immediately, read the first post while studying the picture that goes with it.

Hi milkman. Is there any trace now left on your arm from the IPL treatment?  The head of the machine is so big.  I know yours was a test, but can't they cover the skid around the mole?  I have pinhead-sized moles I want to get rid of, and I don't want a two inch long mark over each one.

Hey MattJames,
How are ya? Yeah, look when it comes to the test patch (IPL) they use the entire surface of the laser head (it's about 6mm x 25mm). On my skin they zapped me 2 or 3 times each one right next to the previous, which makes it look like a larger area. But this is only the test patch. They don't do this all over your body.

At the place I go to they use a mask so that the mole is the only area affected by the laser. It seems to work really well. I can't even find the spots where the laser zapped my moles now. Well, at least for the ones that it removed first time. I'm actually going back for some more treatment to get the stubborn ones.

Cheers,
Milkman.

That's good to know.  Thanks. Now I just need to find somewhere with an IPL machine who'll do it. That's proving harder than I thought.

Oh, one final thing. How long did it take from the day of treatment to the time when there was no visible trace of having had anything done?

id worry about hypopigmentation, concerning IPL if im thinking correctly, it can leave u with permanent white patches, but that could possibly be in the hands of the wrong person aswell.

Have you heard of many people who have had permanent or long-lasting hypopigmentation from IPL?

What other options are there for removing small moles?

The white patches can last a while (ie. up to 6 months).  But mine certainly didn't. The patch that was dead white is now only just noticable. Normally the skin returns to a color the same depth as the surrounding skin.

I just had about 6 spots removed from my arm. About 2 days later, while in the shower, I gave them a rub and the pigment on the surface of the skin just came off - like a blister. It's fairly pink underneath at the moment.

There is a new laser technology that is much more precise. They apply a light responsive paint to the target area, then hit it with the laser. The laser only effects the area with the paint. I'm not sure who has this technology yet...it's only new.

UPDATE:
Ok, so I'm done with IPL for now. All the spots on my back and arms have been removed (apart from very trivial spots). What's left is white spots. So I'm getting back on the melanotan II with a dosage of around 0.25mg/day 5 days a week.  That should see the color come back within 2 or 3 months.

It's a pitty in a way. The woman that was treating me from the IPL place has the most smokin' hot figure and I was just starting to build rapport....Ah well.  I'll have to go back and get a brizillian sometime...ha ha ha..

Cheers,
Milkman.
