Scar pigmentation permament ?
07/30/07 at 02:42:20

Has anyone with scars at least 10 months old stopped using melanotan ?
Is the pigmentation of scars permanent or do they fade like the surrounding skin ?
Scar tissue has much slower metabolism than normal tissue.

The slower metabolism may cause it to fade slower, but eventually all pigmentation will return to the same color as before you started.

People are warned against tanning with fresh scars, lest they become permanently pigmented.
I, too, was warned, and I seem to have some uneven permanent pigmentation, possibly because I did not completely heed this warning, I tanned once, 4 months after the trauma.

With Melanotan things seem to be different than with natural MSH though.
I really would like some feedback from users with scars.

I did not get darkening of any existing scar tissue.  However, even some very light surface abrasions I got while on melanotan II did come up dark and have stayed so.  I will attach a picture here to show, as an example, of when bike riding one time in the mountains, I feel down a ravine.  The fall did not do much to me but the spokes of the chain gear did ride along my leg and leave some very small little punctures, perfectly spaced.  These were extremely minor and healed in less then a week but, well, you can see from the picture, I now have these brown dots down my leg.
On the other hand, from that same fall, I had much more serious cuts on my forearm that took nearly a month to totally heal and, well, nothing, no scar, no color change, nothing.
I have a pretty significant scar on my right wrist from surgery about 1 year before I started melanotan II.  It has not changed at all, in fact, if anything, it may be a bit lighter then the surround skin.

I fell off my bike and grazed my elbows whilst in the loading phase, and have darkened patches where the scabs healed....  also, grazed my back, and have a similar dark scar there too! Would this be permanent?

Something similar took about a year for me to completely fade. I had been doing regular weekly 0.3mg injections. Might take longer for you.

thats a long time for a scar/pigementation to fade!  Shocked
does this happen people who can tan normally aswell?
or is it just a result of the peptide?

As far as I know it's also happening to some degree if you are naturally tanning. I think the peptide enhances the effect quite a lot though.

They aren't sore bob, was over a month ago i had the accident on my bike, and that is a great suggestion to use the bio oil. i have been dosing at 0.5 daily of melanotan II for about a month and a half, so was only a few weeks into the loading phase, when I grazed my elbows Quote from BoB on 11/01/11 at 16:07:54:

Oh wow, a year is a long time although dosing almost daily, maybe would take longer I agree, to reduce or fade the unsightly marks.Quote from Jacques on 11/01/11 at 18:30:52:
