PolarBear's log

Finally, the time has come. I am a skin type 1, I have very pale skin and have never gotten a tan. I have gotten freckles that make me look alive when I am burned as well. Since I was a kid I have felt awkward for being so pale and hearing about this drug all those years ago gave me a little hope but having epitan/clinuvel postpone it every time when it was so close made me think "ok so enough's enough, I'm gonna do this". I had trouble getting it, I originally tried ordering a year ago but it was seized by customs. This time around I decided to be smart about it and order it around the busy Christmas time and hey I got it Smiley My supplier is Melanocorp.

Harmless comments have always been very harmful when people address my skin. Having gotten enough when I was compared to a dead body when taking off my sweater I just lost interest in sunbathing. I haven't done so for many years... But hey, enough with the sobbing, I'm going to start tonight. I'll be starting low (0.5 mgs each day - mixing 1 ml of sterile water - until someone tells me why it's better to use more). After a week or so I'll bump up the dosages if everything goes well.

I just hope I don't end up looking like the elephant man, being all tanned with some disgusting side effects. From what I've read nobody's ended up like that poor fellow. So, I'm crossing my fingers here.

I want to take good pictures and post them but I haven't taken a before picture simply because the lighting outside wasn't good enough - it was too sunny and yellow. So hopefully I'll take a before picture either tomorrow or the next day.

Wish me luck!  Grin It's one small step for you, one giant leap for Polarbears.

Polar Bear, aren't you from xxxxxxx! When I was there last I saw a ton of pale people. I will say I remember at one grocery store in xxxxxxxxx they had these sort of tanning-lotion wipes for sale at the counter which I found interesting--though perhaps such things exist elsewhere and I've just never noticed them.

There's a lot of type 2's in xxxxxxx. But type 1's are just as rare as anywhere else. If my skin had a natural glow to it as it does on type 2's, I wouldn't be here today Smiley .... There's pale... and then there's "Oh my God! Are you sick? Get some sun you corpse, you're blinding us, hahaha.... haha.... hah.... ahhh... mmmm...."

And hey even though it's not sunny here all year round we do have tanning beds (which are used a LOT!).

It's just as awkward being a pale person in this country as any other country. But most of all I just want to look healthy. I hate my skin, from the bottom of my heart.

P.S. Yes, you'll find those tanning wipes everywhere here... this nation has a lust for tanning.. But those wipes suck big time! Smiley Especially on type 1 skin

Hey good luck!  I can tell you that it certainly changes your feelings about your skin!  Its a great feeling knowing that you can get a deep tan.

thanks aussiegirl  Wink and I'm sure if I get the results, I'll probably more than just love my skin...

Anyways...

Day 1 : It's 4:02 AM and it took me ages to preload the syringes. I did 6 x 0.5 mg loaded syringes and then I planned on doing 7 x 1 mg loaded syringes. The whole process took me way longer than anticipated (was feeling very nervous - sweating like a pig).

Here's my problem.. When there were three syringes left to fill, I had almost nothing in the vial. I had mixed 1 ml of sterile water with the melanotan II. So I felt like three whole mgs were going to waste... But then I shot a little more sterile water into the vial so I'd be able to get some out of it. Those are going to be the mystery syringes. Not really sure how much melanotan II is in them.

Oh, am I the only one getting those bubbles EVERY SINGLE time?! I retract melanotan II from the vial and get an air bubble so I withdraw the needle, flick it a little and the bubble goes up... Then I try to shoot the bubble back into the vial but the bubble decides the top is its home and after 300 tries I stop arguing with the damn bubble and let it stay there. What is the solution to this problem?

Also, when withdrawing the needle from the vial... a little melanotan II seems to squirt up out of the vial, what is the deal with that? It doesn't happen to the sterile water when drawing from it.

To the shooting part....

Did 0.5 mgs - felt a little sting but nothing I couldn't take. Then there was the pinching sensation that lasted a few minutes. I felt a mild nausea almost straight away (after about 5 minutes or less) and I still have it. I also feel a little dizzy, almost as if I've had a few beers. I got the facial flushing for a very brief time, but sadly no boners yet.

I put all of the syringes in the freezer. When taking each one out, can someone tell me how long I should wait before using it? Thanks.

I think these two problems are caused by the same thing: To start with, your vial has a neutral pressure, but as you put more and more water into it, the pressure in the vial increases. It's a lot easier to handle if the pressure is even, so when putting water into the vial, it's a good idea to take an equal amount of air out again.

Hi PB, you finally took the plunge!  Congrats!   Grin  Anyway, a few tiny bubbles won't hurt.  I just ignore them.  Just remember to purge the air that you put in to allow for expansion when freezing, before injecting with the frozen pinz.

Thanks MSHie Wink I appreciate it!

Ok, to purge the air that I put in to allow for expansion when freezing... I don't quite understand, can you explain? How does one purge the air? (my lack of English vocabulary is the cause here).

Oh and does anybody know how long I should leave the syringes out of the freezer before using them? A few minutes? 30 minutes?

Hey PB, I always add 2-3 units of air before freezing, by just drawing in air with the needle pointed up.  When I take the pinz out of the freezer, I have noticed that this air is gone and there is ice there instead.  And then when it melts the air re-appears.  The idea is that if you don't do that and it freezes, it must either push the plunger back by itself or perfectly good melanotan II will be pushed out the tip of the needle.  Probably both will happen.  Anyway, it's not wrong but may end up in waste of good melanotan II if it sublimates out the end of the needle as it freezes.

The air stays at the end, so to purge it you just push the plunger until a tiny bit of liquid appears at the end of the needle, then pull the liquid back in so you don't waste it.

You only have to wait until the ice melts, so it amounts to about 10 minutes or so.  You can see the ice - it forms an egg-shape in the middle as it melts, and it wants to float just like any other ice does.  It's like a little iceberg!   Smiley

hey PB good to see you taking the plunge, yeh when you get the syringe out the freezer it only takes 5 minutes for it to unfreeze and ready to inject.. and the pin has never given me any sort of freezer burn lol, also as MSHie mentioned it may cause the plunger to push back itself.. ive noticed mine have done this as i did not think to inject any extra air for expansion before freezing.. but the plunger has moved back itsself and none has seemed to be wasted so ive been lucky there. good luck with your trial , looking forward to hearing your results.

Best of luck to u polar bear glad to see your taking the plunge. May i ask you why you have decided to preload the needles first and store them in a freezer ? is this proven to keep the peptide better quality.

MSHie: I will definitely try this out with my next vial! Thanks!

uktanner: Thanks a lot Smiley and I'll keep in mind what you said!

truetype1gingerboy: Thanks! It'll be interesting to see how it goes for us type 1's and best of luck to you as well. To answer your question it's simple.. I'm using sterile water since I can't get bacteriostatic water. That's the only reason I'm freezing the syringes (avoiding bacteria to form which it's more prone to do in sterile water than bw).

Day 2 - 1 mgs in

I hadn't gotten any boners BUT when I woke up this morning and got outside, I must admit I did have a mild erection which I felt I could not "ease" down as easily as usually. So I don't know if this was some placebo effect but I did find something different. I had the extremely mild nausea feeling the whole day, didn't bother me at all. However, when I got to the gym to do some squats and leg pressing, That's when I started feeling a bit woozy and needed to take a break for some fresh air. Nausea feeling got stronger.

2nd injection
shot 0.5 mgs in, it did feel a little painful as I shot the liquid in because I'm using sterile water I guess. But I'm a grown man and I can take it. Still stings a little 10 minutes later. I managed to forget to retract a little before shooting to see if I had hit a vessel but I'll remember that next time. I'm getting the mild nausea again now but knowing I'm taking my steps toward a tan just makes me happy about the nausea, as completely ridiculous as that may sound. Oh and the facial flushing is evident as well but I'm just so used to facial flushing I can't see it as a side-effect

I recommend for all new comers to put on some encouraging music when shooting the melanotan II in. It makes you feel easier about the whole thing - at least it works for me Smiley Oh and ESPECIALLY if you're hiding away from the old folks and not advertising too much what exactly you are doing  Roll Eyes

That's me for tonight, my first whole mg in. I feel like I lost my first tooth.  Grin

Day 3 - 1.5 mg in

this morning I had the same "bonerish" feeling without getting a rock hard boner I couldn't handle. But there was definitely something different. Today was just fine... nausea not as strong as the day before Smiley

Hope the weather will allow me to take a photo tomorrow.

3rd injection
Nothing unnormal. Similar to the day before. I bruise easily but thankfully I'm not bruising at all from the shots. I'm very happy about that. Got my standard facial flushing right now and the stinging sensation is about to go away. I can't feel it when I stab the needle in but when shooting the melanotan II with sterile water it stings pretty much but again, I'm a grown man who should not and will not cry about these things.

Now, dreamland awaits me! Good night!

Day 4 - 2 mgs in

This morning was no different from the others. Once my little friend is up, he stays there for a bit. But if I don't wake him up, he doesn't bother me.

Today I went to the gym to do some shoulders and ABS. Surprisingly, the ab workout didn't upset my stomach at all. I felt a little itchy after the workout on the sides of my legs and there are like these small red dots. Haven't seen this before and I have no idea whether it's related to the drug. But it's nothing that's bothering me just yet. I'll keep an eye on it though. I don't know when I should expect hyperpigmentation, there's none in my face although I THINK there are a couple of tiny dark dots on my arms... But hey, I like them Smiley

4th injection
It's about 10 minutes since I injected and I'm feeling good actually. Sweating just a little but the sides don't feel as strong. Don't know if that's normal. When I pulled out the needle I saw a little blood come out for the first time. I don't know if I'm imagining things but is there any reason to believe that acne might increase while on this drug? I think I saw someone talk about it decreasing. Not sure here, anyone? Nothing else to report for now.

P.S. COULDN'T TAKE PHOTOS TODAY EITHER!!! Too damn sunny! Let there be clouds tomorrow!

Day 5 - 2.5 mgs in

Nothing new to report

5th injection
I tried injecting in my thigh this time. It actually hurt a lot less and felt more itchy than anything else. I feel hot but I'm not feeling the facial flush too strongly this time. Nausea is close to nothing.

Is the stomach a better place to shoot in?

Day 6 - 3 mgs in

No new side effects to report

Just took a few pictures (at about 4:15 AM - it's unbelievably bright outside here in the summer, 24/7). Will post them tomorrow. I was waiting for a day without sun but my patience has come to an end so the nighttime was the best time since it doesn't get dark at all. Hyperpigmentation is minimal. I do notice some spots getting a little darker but it doesn't bother me AT ALL. I even think it's kind of cool  Cool

6th injection
Just shot into one of my love handles. I got a little blood coming up when drawing the needle out. This is the second time that happens. Not worried but I was wondering if that only happens when you draw back the melanotan II in the syringe to see if you've hit a blood vessel. I did that now and the other time I saw blood coming out. So I'm guessing that's why.

I guess I'm always just a little nervous about putting the needle in. My mind tells me "oh boy this is gonna hurt" even though I know it won't. It's just something about stabbing yourself with a pointy little thing that bugs me Smiley But not so much really. I wish this was legal so I wouldn't have to be so secretive about what I'm doing. Anyways Tongue One step closer to a tan!

Day 7 - 3.7 mgs in

Nothing new to report. Darkening of some spots getting obvious (I think).

7th injection
Upping my dose today to 0.7 mgs. Will do another one of those tomorrow and then go to 1 mg for a few days. Eventually I'll go to 1.5 or 1.6. Shot into my left thigh. A little itchy for a while, don't feel much else.

I need to find a plug for my camera so the computer can get the images I've taken. But they're only before images, nothing to lose your head over. Will get them up soon, the important thing is I've taken them. Going to sleep, over and out!
