Here's a few studies I pulled off PubMed, in case anyone's interested...

Yes, great article! Also, if you look up the definition for what a sunburn is ... you'll instinctively know that Melanotan is doing its anti-inflammatory best when it finally gets going in your system. This seems to explain why its not just the increased eumelanin that is protecting you like tiny umbrellas in your skin, but it is also due to the immune system modulating properties of this polypeptide.

Since synthetic a-MSH is much more powerful in terms of its effectiveness at binding at the MC-1R receptor site, I would assume that the SPF ability it affords is also much better than a naturally produced tan for certain individuals. Unfortunately, Epitan never completed the SPF trial due to the canning of the sunburn protection as a non-medical indication response from the regulatory bodies.

What is sunburn?
Sunburn is an inflammation of the skin that is caused by overexposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun. A similar burn can follow overexposure to a "sun" (tanning) lamp. UV radiation can also damage the eyes, although no surface burn is apparent.

Hey! I suffer from a condition called Fibromyalgia which is a inflamation of connective tissue and pain receptors. I am starting my first vial tomorrow and I will start a new thread to tell you if this helps with the inflamation. It would be WONDERFUL if it did. I take so many pain meds right now when i have a "fibro-flair-up" as they call them it is not even funny. I am stuck wearing a morphine patch some days the pain is so intense. I'll let you know! Shocked

I have been using melanotan II for about eight months now off and on.  The tan has been and still is fabulous.  The libido increase has been somewhat annoying.  Now to address the AI effects,  I have an arythmia that is stimulated by salt of all things.  Within 20 minutes of taking melanotan II, the arythmia is totally gone and stays gone for up to two weeks with no additional use.

That's great to hear, Drbob. Can you tell me a little more about your arrhythmia? I'm assuming you mean a cardiac arrhythmia - but I didn't realise that was an inflammatory condition. Can you explain a little more about the cause and result of this?

Please,

Any ideas on whether Melanotan would have any positive results with Lupus?

I read the article above from PubMed and it was very informative, and raises some questions I have had in my mind for a long time.

Lupus is an autoimmune disease which necessitates the need for lots of anti-inflammatory drugs. Just curious if anyone here has Lupus or any thoughts about this as a possible treatment.

As I have read many of the posts here, I have often thought of recommending Melanotan to a life-long friend that has Lupus, because they are NOT supposed to go in the sun much at all. They get what looks like a sunburn without even going in the sun. Plus, major joint pain (caused from inflammation).

My personal opinion is that if I had Lupus, I would try most anything (within reason) to keep from having to take the heavy doses of drugs they need.

Anyone have any thoughts on this I would love to hear opinions. Thank you in advance.

Without knowing much about lupus at all, it sounds like absolutely the right situation to try melanotan II.

Your reasoning is pretty much identical to mine. I've had a chronic sinus condition, and reasoned that even if melanotan II did have some negative effects, it sure beats prednisone and surgery, which was the alternative!

I've kept a log of my first cycle here:

You know, it is strange, I know that it does act as an anti-inflammatory but, still, after I first take it my knees and elbows hurt.  Can't quite figure that out, any ideas.  Is it that they are slightly inflamed and therefore kind of cushioned in a way?  Strange.

I worry, if anything, about the anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects.

I seem to get chronic inflamed tonsils / mild pain when I'm swallowing when I'm on melanotan II, I don't know why.

Hey Sideways, I had the same effects after using a "bad" vial or recon of some low purity (<99%) melanotan II.  I also, however, had a slew of other bad symptoms.  I still have the remainder of that bad vial in my freezer.

I seem to get that response with any batch from any suppliers so, at least for me, I am quite sure it doesn't have to do with purity.  At any rate, it only lasts for a very short time and then my joints feel even better then before so I don't mind too much.
Tonsil's swell, wow, that definitely sounds like an allergic reaction.  Come to think of it, I seem to remember something about joints hurting a bit during the onset of increased histamine, I will have to look that up again.  Any way, quite possible that for all of us, taking an antihistamine before dosing may take care of these.

WOW, very interesting... Melanotan could help with inflammation yet at the same time other find their joints hurt: Quote:

I will have to read these studies.. If taking an anti-inflammatory supplement like mangosteen would that help the process?

If Melanotan has effect as anti-inflammatory, and hair loss is debt ( in part ) to an inflammatory procces, has anyone seen or notice any effect on hairloss ??

i used melanotan II for about 6months the year before last
i have had a rosacea like skin condition for years now and the effect was remarkable
no redness no flaky painful skin and a great tan
its is the only thing i have tried(and i have tried everything i could find)

This is an old thread that I thought I'd bump because I have had mild arthritis since I was 14, and every morning my first chore is to get some pain reliever for pain I wake up with.  I noticed for the first time this morning, after only 3 doses (total 1.75Mg), that I didn't need any medicine.  I've been pain free ALL DAY today.  There has got to be something in the Melanotan II that will work as an anti-inflammatory on joints.  If it will work for anti-inflammation in sunburns, I guess that makes sense.  Was wondering if anyone else has arthritis or other types of joint pain that are also helped.

I hope this isn't just a one day reprieve.  I haven't even seen any visible skin changes yet, but even if I get no changes and it works as an anti-inflammatory on my joints, it is well worth it.
