So even Palatin is going as high as 20 mg for intranasal use of bremelanotide (PT-141). A note to our suppliers: you really need to get the price down! Right now 20 mg costs a fortune! It will be unaffordable to most of us!

AIM: To evaluate a single intranasal dose of bremelanotide for potential effects on physiological and subjective measurements of sexual arousal and desire in premenopausal women with sexual arousal disorder. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Change in vaginal pulse amplitude during neutral and erotic videos after treatment with bremelanotide or placebo and subjects' perceptions of physiological and sexual response within 24 hours of treatment with bremelanotide or placebo. METHODS: Eighteen premenopausal women with a primary diagnosis of female sexual arousal disorder were randomly assigned to receive a single intranasal dose of 20 mg bremelanotide or matching placebo in a double-blind manner during the first in-clinic treatment session, and the alternate medication during the second in-clinic treatment session. During each session, subjects viewed a 20-minute neutral video followed by a 20-minute sexually explicit video. Vaginal photoplethysmography was used to monitor vaginal vasocongestion and questionnaires were used to evaluate perceptions of sexual response within the following 24-hour period. RESULTS: More women reported moderate or high sexual desire following bremelanotide treatment vs. placebo (P = 0.0114), and a trend toward more positive responses regarding feelings of genital arousal occurred after bremelanotide compared with placebo (P = 0.0833). Among women who attempted sexual intercourse within 24 hours after treatment, significantly more were satisfied with their level of sexual arousal following bremelanotide, compared with placebo (P = 0.0256). Vaginal vasocongestion did not change significantly while viewing erotic videos following bremelanotide administration compared with placebo. CONCLUSION: This preliminary evaluation suggests the potential for bremelanotide to positively affect desire and arousal in women with female sexual arousal disorder and indicates that bremelanotide is a promising candidate for further evaluation in an at-home study.

Guys, don't -- DO NOT -- inject with 20 mg, or even appy that much nasally.  May be the right thing to do for women, but at only 5 mg (injected, @ 175 lbs body weight), I was nearly priapic during sleep -- and that was after letting it fly three times earlier in the day.  That may sound appealing, but it gets painful after a while and that was a turn-off for days (besides being somewhat dangerous).  I've tried a melanotan II size dose (around 1.7 mg at my bodyweight) and that provided just a minor lift in my libido.  Next time I'll go for 3 mg.
 
But, sorry to interrupt this thread on femal arousal.  I just saw some guys posting and wanted to put out that this is one of the many ways we differ.

Okay, here's un update on INJECTIONS of bremelanotide (PT-141)
 
2 mgs sub-q DOESN'T do the trick for ME (it might for you though!).
 
I need at least 5 to 10 mgs for injections. Downside: this makes me extremely drowsy and nausseous (remember to take some dramamine 30 minutes BEFORE you begin!!), so you won't even have the energy to consider sex...
Upside being, the effect lasts long.... so when you wake up the next morning and go down to the breakfast table, the first thing you'll notice upon sitting down is: "what's this funny, throbbing, feeling between my legs"?
 
Conclusion thus far: I get the inkling bremelanotide (PT-141) facilitates sexual interaction by improving sexual functioning of the body. However, it has never given me stronger thoughts, more fantasies or whatever about sexual actions. BUT mostly it does give me quicker and better quality of orgasms (as long as I don't *do* it too often, I need a few days apart - if you catch my drift...).
 
So forget about having 20 orgasms per day every day!

Maybe we are not really getting Bremelanotide.  Here is a quote from the Bremelanotide Bulletin.
"Unlike some other options, this one allowed the patients to actually feel the drug working... the beginning of arousal best described as similar to the "anticipation" you'd feel as a teenager. This in turn builds confidence, addressing the aforementioned problem of performance anxiety that can happen with alternative treatments."

Maybe they use those quote just for marketing reasons - sex sells...
