JustAGuy,
Read the "reconstitution" thread and then consider my idea of using one syringe for each dose, storing them in the freezer.
Later on, you take out one syringe, let thaw, use, and throw away.  Easy, and no wasted melanotan.
I haven't tried freezing syringes yet, but I plan to next time.  I will leave air in the syringe to discourage cracking, but we're talking about such a tiny amount of fluid that I don't anticipate any broken syringes.

Okay, here's little update for you guys.
I've done a few doses of MR's replacement batch.
Freezing the individual doses in syringes has worked really well.  No waste, and saves a lot of time because you just thaw and inject.
I was hoping that the acne side effect from the "bad" batch was due to a problem with the quality, but after I started this batch my acne got worse again (similar to PMS times).
I feel rather grumpy as well.  I'm hot, and my head hurts.  I want to lie down after an injection, but a nap doesn't really make me feel any better.  I have a short temper with others.
Generally, using the melanotan II creates a burden for me and increases my daily stress.
I have observed discoloration of damaged skin (as other here have noted), which is especially troubling for me since I have pretty bad acne which becomes just horrible using melanotan II.  Thankfully, the spots which were discolored by the first batch had mostly faded out by the time the second one arrived (several weeks later).

Mgirl,

Since I started melanotan II (acouple of weeks ago), my skin has also gone from pretty dry to very oily (especially my face).  This caused me to break out for the first time in over a year.  So far, I have not heard anyone else mention this side effect.  Hopefully this effect will level off in time.  For now, I'm just going to keep washing my face every couple of hours and check if they have something at the pharmacy to keep my skin dry. Good luck!!

I think the acne might be a result of just increased inflammation all over my body.  The headache could be that too.  (See the Perricone Diet for a theoretical link between acne and sytemic, low-grade inflammation).
I've taken several days off the regimine, and then taken half a mg a day a couple times, a few days apart.
I seem pretty successful at minimizing the sides that way, but I haven't eliminated them.  My head hurts right now, as a matter of fact.
I'm thinking of continuing at this 1/2 mg dose once every few days, and getting gentle sun about twice a week (12 mins in a bed).
I'm not in a big rush to get dark asap.  I'd rather fold it into a long-term lifestyle without feeling sick.

Not exactly sure why you are having this reaction as melanotan II actually inhibits inflammation.

http://www.healthtech.com/newsarticles/ETP140305.pdf

"The MC-1R has been known to play a role in inflammatory response ... When test in a [skin model], compound 2 was able to elicit an anti-inflammatory effect."

"Thus, naturally occurring melanocortins, as well as the synthetic long-acting compound melanotan II, activate MC3-R on peritoneal Mø to inhibit the experimental inflammatory response."

http://www.jleukbio.org/cgi/content/abstract/69/1/98

"In addition to bremelanotide (PT-141), Palatin's melanocortin compound for erectile dysfunction currently in Phase II clinical trials, the Company has identified several melanocortin-based molecules, derived from its MIDAS(TM) (Metal Ion- induced Distinctive Array of Structures) technology platform, that are now in preclinical development as potential treatments for obesity, cachexia, and inflammation."

http://sev.prnewswire.com/health-care-hospitals/20041115/PHM00515112004-1.html

"In this study we analysed the anti-inflammatory effects of -melanocyte stimulating hormone (MSH)11- 13 (KPV) in comparison with other MSH peptides in a model of crystal-induced peritonitis."

http://jpet.aspetjournals.org/cgi/content/short/jpet.103.051623v1

And so on ... Melanocortin agonists have long been known to be anti-inflammatory. Perhaps its something else that's causing the effect?

I too have experienced inflammation very recently, but I am trying to figure out what it was that caused it. It quite possibly could have been either a reaction to the melanotan II and something that I ate or it could have been caused by a degradation of the melanotan II that I had stored in the fridge for too long a period. I was trying to see just how long this stuff would be effective.

Did you experience extreme itchyness, dizziness, and swelling of the tongue and inflammation most noticably in the hands, throat, and fingers? If so, I believe the batch of melanotan II that you have may be degraded or it could be the diluant. Keep me posted. But normally, a high purity product that has been properly stored will not cause this type of reaction. If you continue to experience these symtoms you should stop using that batch. Have you noticed your reactions getting worse over time?

Do me a favor and simply inject unmixed diluant (i.e. diluant only) and tell me if you get the same swelling effect. I want to find out if its degraded diluant or degraded melanotan II. This test will help me narrow this down.

Hi Endy,
The dilutant, huh?  That's an interesting theory.  It looked normal (sealed, sterile) when I got it, but maybe it is bad somehow.
I'm expecting a new batch of melanotan II shortly, and will obtain new dilutant for it, and see if that goes any better.
I can also try the old water by itself, as you suggest.
I will come back later on and answer your other questions.
Thanks!

Endy,
I want to thank you for the anti-inflammatory information.  That's very interesting (and positive) news to me.
I injected just the water yesterday, and didn't feel all that great.  Some of the symptoms were missing, as you would expect, but my head still hurt some, and I felt hot.
In an attempt to tie down whether there's a problem or not with the water, I've injected 4 CCs this evening.  That's twice what I usually do.
So, we'll see how it affects me.

Im having trouble with wisdom teeth coming in. This weekend I was on holiday and on one side my mouth got sore and was really sure my face was going to swell up as that is what has happened on three other occassions, it was so bad that i had to use antibiotics but this time it just got sore and there was no swelling so I would say this would back up the anti inflammatory info.

Well, I took a usual "dose" of just the bacteriostatic water, and didn't feel too good that day, and the next day took a double dose and felt fine.  So, I really don't know what to conclude.  Regardless, I'm going to be starting my new batch with a new vial of water and we'll see how that goes.
I am thinking of taking a picture of the "blotching" around my acne-ridden shoulders to post for you all.  (No, no, don't thank me...)
Seriously, it might be nice to know that this is a problem for other people with bad acne to begin with.  I don't mind too much, since I wasn't showing off that part of my body in the first place, and I think the little bit of bed tanning that I've been doing has helped some.
These discolorations from sores do fade with time, so I'm not concerned.
One interesting thing I noticed today.  My lips ARE in fact changing color, as are the lines in my hand.  The edges of my lips, maybe 1/8 inch, are browner -- almost like a lipliner.  I don't mind the look, but it's definitely a change in color from before.  The lines in my hands, when I open my palms fully, are usually pink but now are definitely very brown.  I was using self-tanner some, to make my brownening skintone a little more golden, but I've been using gloves, so I know that's not affecting the lines of my hands.

I think melanocytes exist on the lips so it makes sense. Just depends on the person if this will happen. It did not for me.

The lip color has not happened for me either, although i wish it would, but i did notice the lines in the palms of my hands are darker, not necessarily brown just darker.

I finally obtained some more bacteriostatic water.  The makeup of the water is a little different than the last stuff -- this stuff isn't saline, I think.
I've taken small doses (.7 mg or so) yesterday and today, and it's interesting that I didn't feel sick either time.  I got flushing, especially at the injection site, and some strange headedness, but not the same irritated, hot feeling that I got before.
I don't know if this change is because of the supply, or the water, or the small dosage, but it's good news anyway.
