Converted EPTNF stock to EPTNY and bought more!
07/15/04 at 16:36:39

Well I switched over today to BNY's Level 1 ADRs of EpiTan. I found that with my broker TDWaterhouse, it was easy. I just did a market sell of my EPTNF shares and then used the cash generated from that sale to buy the EPTNY shares. Now I'll have ADR shareholder rights accorded to EpiTan ADR shareholders Wink . As I had previously stated what I might do in my "I made the plunge!" thread, I also purchased additional shares (of the EPTNY) so as more and more good news comes out of Australia things should be looking up more and more.

Cheers!

just for future reference you can convert your shares to EPTNY with only a $30.00 registration fee up to July 30th through Ameritrade ...i converted my 204,000 shares over to EPTNY without having to sell my EPTNF thus getting out of any capital gains tax

Wink Thanks for the tip!

I would most certainly have researched my options for conversion more thoroughly if I had found myself in your position but as it was I only had 1000 shares to convert so I didn't "appear" to do much gaining.... hehe

Cheers!

Would there be any major disadvantage to holding on to my EPTNF shares?  I got 5200 at 0.10 a share.  Pretty sure I would have some taxes to pay if I did a market sale of this right now to convert to EPTNY.

Don't sell them! Do as go2thebeach suggests and convert them! Converting the stock is not considered a tax event.

Your broker should be able to do the conversion, otherwise try following go2thebeach's advice and got the Ameritrade $30 route.

Thanks.  I use UBS Payne Webber, so I'll call my guy tomorrow and see if he can convert them.

I have a 'few' shares of EPTNF, and was presented an opportunity to convert these (10:1) to EPTNY by my broker at a nominal cost of $15.  I declined at the time, simply because I can't see any reason for it.

My question is this:  Why would I want to convert to EPTNY?  Is there any advantage to doing it?  If everything else is the same, I'm inclined to just save myself $15 --

rp71,
I talked with Davina Bridgeman (manager investor relations and marketing). She recommended converting EPTNF shares to EPTNY for a few reasons. One being, (and the one that grabbed my attention) was Epitan was not too familiar with EPTNF, it is sponsored by a U.S. broker.  She also said once shares are converted to EPTNY the purchaser would be listed on their official register and afforded shareholder rights. Basically Epitan sponsors EPTNY and you should convert your stock. If your broker is offering $15, take it… the normal transaction fee is $30… m
