Below is a before and after picture that was taken during Melanotan IND (Investigational New Drug) experimentations in Arizona in 1991. This person and an additional 27 other healthy caucasian males were involved in this study of melanotan-1 (as reported in a document entitled:
Induction of skin tanning by subcutaneous administration of a potent synthetic melanotropin [melanotan-1] in
Vol. 266 No. 19 November 20, 1991 edition of the Journal of the American Medical Association).
Anyone have any more information about this photo?
According to the study abstract, "All subjects used a high-potency sunscreen during the trial.". This likely explains why the color achieved is not as pronounced as it would be if this individual had received limited UV exposure.
